Lucy Monti (Lucienne Bollenberg) was a Flemish singer from Ostend, who became famous for her interpretations of local fishermen’s songs. Her music reflected the soul of the Ostend fishing community.
She occasionally wrote songs with her brother Pete Monti. However, most of her songs were penned by Freddy Feys, the father of musician Serge Feys. Through her sincere performances, she brought the stories and traditions of the sea to life, which made her beloved by the local population.
After her untimely death in 1978, her cousin Lucy Loes took over her musical legacy.
