The voice of our manifesto for The Ostendian is none other than Sebastien Dewaele, whose love for Ostend is deeply rooted. As the frontman of the band Preuteleute, he played a crucial role in the cultural dynamics of the city for years. The band combined humor and music, often with a nod to life on the coast, and repeatedly filled the Paulusplein with energy and passion. Preuteleute is more than music; it’s an essential piece of Ostend’s identity and put the city on the map.
Besides his musical career, Sebastien Dewaele is also known for his impressive TV roles in series such as Eigen Kweek, Onder Vuur, and Styx. His versatility as an actor has earned him a permanent place in the Flemish television and film landscape. Yet, his connection to Ostend remains the common thread in his work, where the city always plays an important role as a source of inspiration.
