The love for drawing and painting has been with young Redgie from the very beginning. As a young artist, he is taught by Gustaaf Sorel, Raoul Servais, and René Vandenberghe at the municipal art academy of Ostend. The sea remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him. He also keenly observes people and animals, and enjoys painting them on canvas, using both pastel and acrylic.
Redgie won a silver medal in Dallas, and his work hangs in places including the royal palace. In 2019, during the Ostend Awards, he is honored with the title of city figure, a recognition for his years of contribution to the arts in his city.
He still paints with heart and soul every day in his studio in Ostend.
