Luc Bogaert, once the youngest skipper-owner of a coastal vessel, is a living legend at the Vistrap in Ostend. With the O.62, he took shrimp fishing to a new level, thanks to his innovative approach and unparalleled craftsmanship. Multiple awards, including several titles as shrimp king, made him an icon in Ostend’s fishing industry. His dedication to the sea and the craft continues to inspire many.
After his retirement, his daughter Dini proudly took over the helm of the family business. A familiar face at the Vistrap for years, she has more than proven herself in a world traditionally dominated by men. With the same passion and drive as her father, she maintains the heritage of the O.62. Thanks to Dini, the future of the Vistrap and the O.62 remains secure, with a fresh perspective and respect for tradition.
