Dries Vanhegen is a versatile talent making a name for himself as an actor, director, and writer, active in both Flanders and the Netherlands. You may know him from his roles in popular Flemish series such as Chantal, Under Fire, and Knokke Off, or from his impressive performance in the film Ex Drummer, based on the book by Herman Brusselmans. As a theater maker, Dries also stands firmly on his feet. With his own production company, Waltzing Mathilde, he debuted in 2024 with a musical theater piece about James Ensor, for which Ostendian Serge Feys provided the music.
His role in Ensor est un fou/ Ensor is mad immediately earned him the prize for best acting performance at the Flemish Theater Festival. Dries, a proud Ostend native, divides his time between Ghent and Ostend, where he wholeheartedly expresses his passion for art and culture. Whether on screen, on stage, or behind the scenes, Dries Vanhegen always manages to inspire.
