As a passionate hospitality entrepreneur, Bart Boelens has been bringing life to Ostend for years. Together with Jo Bonte, he took over the iconic music bar Lafayette in 2017, where the true soul of Ostend can be felt into the early hours. During the day, you can also enjoy a coffee in a cozy atmosphere. In 2019, Bart and Jo added a new hotspot to Langestraat with Bar Des Amis, a cozy bar right next to Lafayette.
During the summer months, Bart is at the helm of Pole Polé Beach, a vibrant beach bar where locals and tourists meet. Additionally, together with his wife, he has been running the familiar Europe Hotel for more than 30 years. As chairman of the Middenkust Division at Horeca Vlaanderen, Bart tirelessly dedicates himself to the local hospitality industry and his fellow entrepreneurs. Bart lives and breathes Ostend and hospitality, always with the same goal: bringing people together and letting them enjoy.
